Expresso / Spin & Go● Intermédiaire10 min de lecture

Spin & Go strategy by stack depth: 25BB / 15BB / 10BB

Expresso strategy changes with every blind level. Learn the optimal approach for deep, medium, and short stacks.

Optimal Expresso strategy varies considerably depending on stack depth. The blinds increase fast, so you must adapt on the fly.

Phase 1: Deep Stacks (20+ BB)

Early in the Expresso with 20+ BB, you have a window of ‘normal’ play. Open-raise from the button, defend your big blind, and look for favorable spots.

Phase 2: Medium Stacks (12-20 BB)

In this zone, alternate between normal opens and direct push/fold depending on the exact stack and hand.

BTN: open or push depending on exact stack and hand

SB: push wide or limp/complete depending on BB profile

BB: defend intelligently against pushes

Phase 3: Push/Fold Exclusive (< 12 BB)

Below 12 BB, adopt a near-exclusive push/fold strategy. Example: at 10 BB on BTN, push about 65% of hands.

The Transition Between Phases

Precisely identify at what BB level you switch to push/fold. This transition is the most critical moment of the Expresso.

Adjustments in 3-Handed

With three players, ranges are wider than in HU. Play tighter from the blinds and wider from the button.

À retenir

  • 120+ BB: normal poker. Open-raise, defend BB, play postflop.
  • 212-20 BB: mix opens and pushes. The transition point is critical.
  • 3< 12 BB: push/fold exclusive. At 10 BB BTN, push ~65% of hands.
